Autoweek Mag App App Reviews

79 add

Would give it 0 stars if I could.

Now behind by two OS updates. Wont let me download any new magazines. Just bought it and was able to download only two. Now it says I dont have a subscription.

Subscription troubles

Why pay for a subscription? Just to have to pay per issue? Dont buy, dont subscribe. Just go pick up a print copy.

Not Working great…Not App Store Standard

I love the content of Autoweek…but the App!?!?! Im an annual subscriber and just updated to this iOS7 compatible version…so started by restoring my purchases and even my subscription…Oh surprise…only 6 out of 51 could be restored…Bad…real bad!!! Ridiculous!! Not App Store standard…Please fix this shame!

Loses Subscription with iOS Updates

Every time there is an iOS update, I lose my subscription. It has happened to me twice now. The first time I was able to reactivate my existing subscription and carry on. Since iOS7 nothing. Im a fan of Autoweek, but will have to stick to their daily emails to get my info. I enjoyed the iPad version for airplane reading.

So Wheres the Update?

Ive missed three issues in a row now that Ive subscribed to because the app no longer recognizes my subscription. I contacted tech support, and they told me its a problem theyve identified and an update will be out soon to fix the problem. That was two weeks ago..... Really disappointed with this app. Learned my lesson about iTunes subscriptions, since sales are final.

Great Mag, login issues

After 25yrs as an autoweek subscriber I am canceling because of the repeated login issues. Great magazine app, horrible authentication process.

Doesnt work since iOS7

This was never a great app but now it just doesnt work at all. Try to open and you see the Autoweek screen and then it crashes and closes. But they still pull your subscription money. Thats working fine!

Failure since ios7

Cant use my subscription anymore, cant even subscribe again within the ap, bring back the old magazine stand it always worked

Forget this app. Just get the paper magazine.

The content is great, but the app experience is incredibly frustrating. “Restore purchases”, the standard mechanism for downloading previously purchased content (I have a subscription through iTunes) doesn’t work. Actually, I assume it doesn’t work because the app fails to provide any feedback after I enter my password. I dug around some more and found another “restore purchases” button hidden in the settings menu. That didn’t work either; again, no feedback whatsoever. Finally, I tried the “log in” button on that same screen. “Aha, so I have to sign up through the publisher. Fine, let’s try this.” Nope! This time, it assigned me a customer ID and showed my account credentials, but again, no sign of missing issues. Thinking maybe that “kickstarted” something, I tried “restore purchases” one more time. No luck. I gave up after that. Delete!

Frustrated

Love the mag. Hate the fact that I continue to enter login and password. Get it together!! Zinio is so much better!

Not Good!!!

This app simply does not work!! Do not purchase!

Has not worked since IOS7 Update

Just like the other reviews, mine has not worked since the update. It just goes to the Autoweek screen and then crashes. Please avoid this mag until further notice.

Frustrating app – save your time and money

After numerous efforts at getting these downloads to work correctly, I finally asked for a refund. Even that was a hassle. Save your time; save your frustration; get the paper magazine.

Magazine Great, App Terrible

The app has many issues (no pun intended), including being very fickle about viewing the magazine issues. Some times, it will allow me to View, other times I can not view issues and the purchase icon shows up. The biggest complaint I have is that it does not download a purchased issue to your device so you have to be on-line to view and read. I travel a good bit and do not always have internet, especially during takeoffs and landings. Please address and fix the app.

Baaaad app

Ive been re-subscribed for two months and STILL cant get new issues. Love the magazine, which Ive read for years, but I can not get my issues to download. And, although Im not a true "techie" Ive built and restored computers for years, so I can usually make my way around computers. I just cant seem to make this "Apple-easy" app work.

Dont bother

Great when it works...which is seldom. Recently it stopped recognizing my subscription. Now I cant download issues, cant buy individual issues, cant resubscribe, cant reactivate, cant really do anything with it. Dont waste your time or money on this garbage. Stick to the print edition.

Needs major overhaul!

The Pixelmags app, used by several publications including Autoweek, is not terrible, but its close. Theres nothing above and beyond what you get in the print edition, such as interactive content, videos, etc. Something I find particular annoying is that if Ive been out of the app for more than a couple of hours, even if I havent actually closed out the app on my ipad, it forces me to log back into my account when I switch back to the still open app to start reading again. This is extremely frustrating, and should absolutely not be necessary. And worst of all, you MUST be logged in to view content, so if Im in a location that does not have Internet, I dont have access to my issues. This is ridiculous. Ive already downloaded the issues! The whole point of digital magazines is being able to take them with you wherever you go, all on one device. Eliminating this feature makes the app almost completely useless to me. Ive contacted the developer directly about this massive shortcoming of the app and they didnt have the decency to reply. My recommendation; If youre able to get your magazines in Zinio, DO IT! Once youve downloaded an issue in Zinio, its yours to read whenever you choose, Internet connection or not. Imagine that! If I could give the app zero stars...

I love it!

I love the app! I have been an Autoweek subscriber for over a decade. I love the mag! So the app is a great way to get my copy. Additionally, I have never had a problem with the subscription being lost after an iOS update. Not sure what people are complaining about.

Nice magazine, some user interface issues

I wish apple would create a magazine engine that everyone could just paste their content to. The content is good, with nice pics. I hadnt logged into my app for a while and had piled up a nice back catalog of issue to catch up on. Prior to the Newsstand addition I could access by subscription by merely reauthorizing the device using my itunes acct that purchased the subscription, but now , after talking to their excellent customer support, I must also log in using a PixelMag acct....why? Perhaps this is why some of peeps are having login issues.

Interactive Content a Must

In the app word, no update since Oct 2013 is a lifetime. When you compare Autoweek app to say Automobile app, you can see a huge difference in the user experience and its not just a static, duplication of the magazine. Content wise I love Autoweek but the app experience is outdated in the current format. Please update, please.
